I just purchased a denon 3910 but wont get it till next week.Would like to get as much info on the best settings for the player. The player will be connected via component and digital and of course 5.1 analog for multi-audio.Trying to expedite things for proper setup.I also hd something about a direct mode on the player which boosts certain settings.Anything would help.thanks

You do know that you can only upscale over DVI or HDMI (not over component)? The best advice is to make the majority of adjustments on the display, not the player, using a calibration DVD such as AVIA or DVE. In general, black level should be set to Normal, and IRE set to 0.

Thanks i was aware only hdmi and dvi for upscale,i have a tosh hd player which dos a fine job.My main thing with the 3910 besides video is the sacd/dvda playback.which is the main reason i got it.I heard that the setup for multi-audio on this player as well as the video could get complicated and was looking for advise/heads up on the proper setups for video and multi-audio.Maybe i'm mistaken in how complicate it may be.thanks again

IMO, you're best off using the analog outputs for SACD/DVD-A due to the excellent audio DACs in the player.

I am going to that,as i have a 2200 now which the 3910 will be replacing in my main room.If the 3910 is setup like the 2200 i have no problem. It's that i understand that the 3910 has different and more settings that i will need to do,compared to other players.

The instruction booklet is very detailed and should help you optimize your settings.

I just got a 3910 and i do not know what setting to chose for the HDMI output, RGB or component. The manual does not explain either option or why one would chose one over the other.

It's one or the other

Is there a benefit to chosing one over the other or is the picture quality the same?
