I'm about to purhase a HDTV. Doing a lot of reading and researching. I'm not able to physically compare pictures side by side because of the remoteness of where I live. I narrowed it to Sony 40V2500 and Samsung 4065F. Are there any diff between the two to be aware of. Primarily interested in picture quality and sharpness. Reason for considering above models is I may want to add Blu-ray down the line. Is this sound thinking and worth the extra $. Also I receive my signal over satellite. I've heard that HD over satellite is not that good because of the extremely high compressed images which are transmitted. Does anyone have any knowledge or experience of this. Thanks for any help.

Sorry, wrong forum for the LCD question.

As far as the compression, yes, there is a lot of compression being used on both satellite and cable HDTV programming. For an uncompressed HDTV signal, you should be viewing an over the air HDTV signal broadcast from one of your local stations when they are broadcasting in HD (usually in the evening).

IMHO, that would be the best way to compare the picture quality of the two sets.
