It was on their series "Secrets of The Dead" last week- it showed how important to the USA and England the capture of former Nazis were to the future of Rocket and Nuclear science to these two countries in post WW2 1945-49. Incredible program. Without Werner Van Braun the USA would have been very poorer in these sciences. He was key but there were others.
I dunno....I agree with the comments from the slave-labourer at Von Braun's underground missile works - Von Braun was a war criminal and should have ended his days at the end of a rope. Most of the Nazi "terror weapons" were relatively useless in military terms, especially the goofy rocket plane, and the Brits already had the jet engine....although the Germans got the first "operational" jet fighter into the sky - the Me-262.
Still a good program to watch..... ;)
