I live in a galaxy far far away and have no stores nearby for test-driving seats. I've been considering the coaster line but the one thing I cannot tell from the pictures is how high the backs and where my head would be on them. I'm 6' and don't want a chair thats so high that it blocks my surround sounds.
I can't find any place that carries the Studios locally, either.
Will be watching this thread!
I'll be heading to Austin, TX next week for work if anyone happens to know of a place to see them in person there.

I too, am 6'4". And I clear the top of the Showtimes by about 3". If I may add just a couple of thoughts...
If you can get your surrounds high enough, it won't really matter if your ears are below the top of the chair. Also, consider if you recline, your ears will be pretty much parallel to the chair back anyway.
By the way, I just got my Showtimes and they are fantastic. I'm sure the Studios are nice as well. I have read that the Studios are about an inch or so taller than the Showtimes.

I think it's the other way around - Studios are 39", Showtimes are 40".

Thanks for correcting my error. You're right, the Showtimes are taller by 1 inch. And it's the STUDIOS that I just received and I am in love with. Why do they both have to start with "S"? :)

I've heard the showtimes armrests are too low for comfort, would any of you comment on that? My ceiling is 10' high so your probably right about the sound not being affected much. I'm leaning toward the studios but I'd love to hear some more comments before I buy 8 chairs without ever sitting in them.
drunkpenguin,
the arms on the Showtimes are lower but this for the vast majority only affects taller people. Everybody's tastes are different but some 6'2 ft+ members have stated in the past that the arm rests were a tad too low. The extra inch back height however can be taken as a plus for these same taller members.
It is very difficult to generalize and make recommendations except when generally speaking. Example, two members with the same size and build will sit in two different model chairs and one will like one chair and the other member the other. Each person has his/her own definition of what is comfortable...
If you are average height (6ft and under) the armrest placement of the Showtimes should be a non issue. Even for most taller members it's a non issue. Opinions and personal tastes do vary. I know i'm not helping much but generally speaking i am trying to:) Hope i am of some help.
