For some reason I recently lost reception of one channel, Fox HD , on my Samsung SIR-T165. I have tried multiple re-scans to no avail. Someone in my local OTA HD forum reports no problems with his reception of the channel. Please help!! I need Fox to watch the Redskins in HD this fall.

Do you get anything on the signal strength meter when you tune to the digital channel for the station? One thing to try is to disconnect the antenna, do a full re-scan to clear the channel list, then reconnect the antenna & re-scan again. Have you checked the antenna & cable and shifted the aim of the antenna to see if that helps?? Also, which Fox station did you lose OTA? Call letters?

I'll try to disconnect & rescan... The STB tunes in the analog 43.0 but not the digital 43.1 (WTVZ), so i couldnt figure out how to manually add 43.1 or check the signal.

WTVZ-DT 33 is a My Network station on DT 38 (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/WTVZ). I assume you mean WVBT-DT Fox 43 which is broadcasting on UHF 29 (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/WVBT). I don't have the T-165. But with the SIR-T451, you can directly enter the actual digital broadcast channel. Try entering 29 or 29.1.

I can never remember those call letters... I can only enter 43 for the channel- how do you enter the .1?

Depends on whether the STB remote has a "." button. Is the SIR-T165 ATSC only or does it have ATSC and NTSC tuners? If it has NTSC, there may be no provision for directly entering the actual digital broadcast channel. Still enter channel 29 and see what happens.

I entered channel 29 but that didnt work. Moved the antenna around. Tried unplugging antenna and rescanning to no avail. I believe the box scans for both analog & digital. Its wierd because i used to get the channel and nothing has changed in my setup. Possibly, its a PSIP issue with the broadcaster. I might try two things- Setting up my Harmony remote for the Samsung (It may have a way to enter the .1) or possibly trying a firmware update. The update might help with some firewire issues i am having with my JVC 5U D-VHS but might also render the box DOA. It looks like i may have to hang on to that Voom box just to get Fox in HD.

Well, I hooked up my antenna to my Motorola Voom box and it doesnt get Fox HD either. It has the channel, 43.1, mapped but says no signal. I get every other channel on both boxes and used to get Fox on both. What in the name of ... is going on here?
