I just recently bought a Samsung HLS6187W and a PS3. Well when I bought them I bought two monster HDMI cables to go with it.... well I've decided to take them back and get my $200 back and just go with the Monoprice cables since everyone says that there really isn't that big of a difference. My question though is what's the difference in the 22,24,26 and 28AWG cables, and which ones do I need to buy?

If your run will be 6 feet or less, it won't matter. I bought the 3ft 28 AWG, and it is pretty thick.

I'll edit to add that the thicker cables (lower number) help with shielding the signal over longer runs.
