will the hdmi ports accept a true 1080p input? or can I only feed 1080i? for some reason I thought I read one time on here that someone said it will do 1080p, but I may be completely off on that

The 1st generation SXRD did not accept 1080p, so you need to feed it 1080i (the display will then automatically deinterlace the signal to 1080p).
