Good day! I remember quite a couple of months back, where a lot of raves have been given to a dvd player bought before the oppo wave came in...

So, looking for a cheap budget dvd player, upconverting, and remembered our forum.

the things i remember about it is...
1. its black
2. you have to get a cable that converts a dvi port to a hdmi port.
3. i think it was like 29 bucks on the net.
4. good upconverting factor.

i want to buy one just for my trip to LA for a couple of months, and needed an inexpensive one. why upconverting? well, lets just say i want to use it for more than just travelling.

also, if it has a dvi port or a svga port even better.

too lazy to search? you can say that, or you can say that the key words i remembered too was bravo d1. which is definitely over the 29 bucks parameter.

Let me know guys. thanks again for all the help.

The bravo d1 was discontinued a long time ago and IIRC "clones" showed up on NewEgg for a while at a very cheap price not too long ago. Searching for NewEgg may turn up the posts.

Insignia has one that's like $55 at BestBuy.

Philips has the 5982 I think for $70. Does 1080p.

It decodes DD to 5.1 analog audio out too (probably does not do DTS as no DTS logo and costs more to implement DTS pass through and very unlikely will not decode DTS to 5.1 analogue out)

It's on sale locally for $29.95+tax :D
