Can I mount my Optoma HD72 Projector on the ceiling 19 feet away from the wall?

The ceiling is 8 1/2 feet.

Would this work ok?

I know nothing about this particular projector, but...

Check the documentation for this information. In the documentation for my Sony, there was a whole section on minimum and maximum distances from the screen for a given picture size, and other geometry data for figuring this stuff out.

Your minimum screen size would be 138 inches and your foot Lamberts would be 7 - this is not a good setup. You need to move it up to about 12 to 14 feet from the screen.

I have this same projector. At max size zoom, this projects an image 106" diag in a 13' x 13' room with 10' ceilings. The projector is against the back wall 3 inches from the ceiling. The image almost centered - maybe 10% above center. Check out the projection calculator on www.projectorcentral.com for more info. <-seems to be down right now.

My current setup is 15' from wall but the cables are exposed a couple of feet and looks bad. If I move back to 19' it would hide cable much better. Also the seating would be around 18-19 feet in a 20x20 room.
