Not sure if this is more of a hardware or software question. Sorry if I posted in the wrong forum. I am new to HD-DVD. (Just got my A2 about 2 weeks ago.) Unfortunately I do not have HDMI on my TV or receiver, but I am still very impressesd with PQ over component and AQ via optical spdif. I just bought Batman Begins and will be watching it this weekend. Its the first title I've got that has TrueHD audio. I know I can not get the benefit of TrueHD audio since I lack HDMI and/or analog out on my A2. But here's my stupid question: In the audio set up on the movie disc would I hear any difference in the audio quality if I choose DD+ versus TrueHD? Will they sound identical since I'm using optical?

the A2 outputs all audio from optical to DTS 1.5mb. You should hear slight improvement with DTS, its not huge but dynamics is slightly better. Least to me with dts output on my 360 addon.

You should hear some difference when you select the DTHD over the DD+. The optical will just downgrade it to 1.5 mbps. But you should still get an HDMI receiver eventually the DTHD audio tracks sound excellent and if you get Blu Ray the uncompressed audio is phenomenal as well.
