1.Are there any DVD/VHS recorders wich also have HDD?
2.Which DVD recorders have the biggest rate of frames/second when you look at a movie in fast forward mode(supposing the movie is recorded on the hard drive)?
Thanks a lot.
The Philips DVDR-3575 (http://www.avsforum.com/avs-vb/showthread.php?p=10642719&&#post10642719) has a 160GB HDD and is a good unit.
The link above takes you to pg 3, where someone actually bought and tried the first unit. The previous pages were all pre-release speculation and misinformation, including much discussion of a previous "bad" (much less capable) Philips unit w/o ATSC tuner.
FF Speeds: 2X, 20X and 40X.
Rev Speeds: 5X, 20X and 40X.
But the Philips doesn't have a VHS section.
And if the OP is asking how smooth is the FF playback, the FF with hard drive recordings is a bit choppy on the Philips (although the first step FF is quite smooth with DVD and DivX - don't know why it's different from HDD). The Philips does have an interesting "rapid play" mode though, where it plays at 1.3x normal speed with pitch-corrected audio.

That's what I'm interested in: a smooth FF playback! Which DVD recorders are best here?
Until now I thought that the FF playback from HDD is much better than from the DVD? Am I wrong?
