Apparently, after years of recording and transferring and editing and dubbing as a hobby, I am officially a Newbie. I always have to explain features and "how to" to everyone in my family but I didn't know how much I didn't know until now!!!! :eek: I am heading to the dummies area as soon as I can locate it - just read about it in another post - BUT

Is there a place with a detailed comparison of the current combo units for sale/coming out that compares the features? I have started a notebook with notes about ones I am looking at but I could unknowingly miss a really great unit just because I didn't know about it.

I am looking at several PANNY units because they seem to have the best reviews and least complaints - from what I've read on 6 review sites...AVS is where I am now focussing because the users are the only people who REALLY know the quality of a unit. I see in a few places that Pioneer is recommended by forum userss...but wouldn't have considered it before

The specs notebook is getting obnoxiously lengthy with important information and I'm wondering if I am "recreating the wheel" so to speak. I'm looking through AVS and others but haven't found a decent list yet, certainly not with more than 2-5 units, and never with consistent specs/pros/cons for the units.

If there's a place, please let me know.........

Otherwise, anyone who knows anything about combo units (available for purchase - or soon to be) good or bad, Please let me know and I'll add it to my specs notebook so I can decide what is best for my needs without paying for features I don't need

Meanwhile I'll keep reading the forum...
