The update is free...general game tweaks: Removing Chimera vs Chimera in ranked games, making your team-mates more distinguishable in team death-matches...not sure what else - there are rumours about limiting bullseye tags and an option to disable 40 mm grenades. But who knows for sure?

That part will all be free, whatever it is. The two maps, however, you have to pay for.

Isomniac has already stated they did not want to charge 7.99 for the 2 maps. That is the price Sony set.

what is it $8? $8 for 2 new maps is kind of ridiculous. i'll probably wait. i'm not playing resistance much anyway these days. though maybe if i got the new maps...

I had the PS3 since launch and Ressistance is the only real good game on it (until Ninja Gaiden Sigma next week).I`ve been playing this game for almost a year.I`ll be more than happy to shell out $8 for 2 new maps.I was getting bored of this game,now we have a reason to want to play it again.

If youre bored with a game I doubt new maps will do much to change that. Its not as if they're implementing new gameplay to make it more fun for you. If you are good, generally you have fun. If you're horrible, its easier to give it up. You're not going to suddenly have a huge jump in skill just because more maps came out, and its not going to make you want to play again for more than a week or so.

Since Ressistance is the only game for the PS3 i`ve been playing for almost a year,i`ll take any new maps,since I played all the old maps to death.It does start getting boring after a while,whether you suck or your great at the game.

hehehe, this is good....I will see if its up on mine. As far as the map pack...if they are not free then that will limit who can play online one them. Probably making it more exclusive to more serious and skilled players. I probably will get them but I don't want to be slaughtered any more than I already am. It would be cool if one is big and the other is small like the bus yard. It would be cool for them to push the limit past 40 players...

I downloaded the update,now it won`t let me play online.It keeps saying login failed. :mad:

These new maps are crazy. Definitely breathed some new life into Resistance. It's worth the money just to see new scenery and equalize the game for some of us that aren't as skilled as others. They say the older you get the slower the reflexes get. Good luck everybody, see you in battle.

Resistance is a good game. Playing R6 online makes me realize how "spoiled" we were with its dedicated servers & online interface. I won't go so far as to say it's the best, but it's pretty damn good, and all the ps3 online games so far don't come close to comparison. Warhawk might be an exception, but navigation & ease of use falls short compares to R:FOM.
