I don't have the HD-DVD but have seen this on HD cable. Favorite scene is the "Masquerade" sequence. Lots of vibrant color and great song. Brings back memories of when I saw the play.

When the theater "comes alive"in the beginning, going from black and white into color. Terrific scene.

The end credits.

Because I knew I could put in a good movie next.

Agree, havnt seen any HD version of it, but the DVD scene was good enough. Great demo material.

Masquerade for me too. My favorite from the play as well.

Opening scene in the Theatre when it comes alive with color and the scene on the roof with the falling snow at night.

Masquerade... but that's just because I know how difficult it is to coreograph for such large group of people for film.

Does anybody have any updates about Warner re-releasing POTO with the volume adjusted to appropriate levels.? On a couple of occasions I almost forgot to turn the volume down after taking Phantom out and had my receiver volume at nuclear meltdown level. My wonderful PSB speakers were almost toast...literally. And those of you who believe it doesn't matter I beg to differ. When the volume goes up to compensate for the disc volume so does the noise table...and the dynamic range isn't helped either.

i feel your pain.

but i don't have the problem because all my speakers are klipsch heritage series.

hd dvd and poto cost me a lot of $ for speaker upgrades.

imo one of the best audio demos for hd dvd is the cemetery scene.
