My brother called me yesterday saying he has bought two different DVD recorders and neither of them have been able to control his d10 DirecTV receiver using all DirecTV codes in the manual and talking with tech support. One was the rdr-vx530 and I don't recally the other. He asked me to help him out but I can't find anything definite online.

Does anyone have a recorder that controls their d10 receiver or know for certain of one that does.

My Panny (EH75V) works fine with DirecTV.

Plus, it has the TVGOS system, which means he won't have to set recordings manually.

Considerably more expensive than a basic DVD recorder, though.
