WTF? Again ESPN pulls a "let's waste 50% of the screen with nothing!" Man, I thought they learned their lesson after the NFL Draft....

I own a 50' HD set. I am wondering if people that own a 15' HD set could watch anything without a telescope or binoculars....

They figure people would rather have the information than the HD. Yea I agree it sucks. (this show was a SD show NEP Supershooter 16). The worst part is that this is becoming more the norm for ESPN, expect to see a lot more of it...as long as focus groups are dictating corporate decision making.

They did it with the Indy 500 time trials too. Complete waste of HD

As a Bulls fan, I'm glad it wasn't in full HD. I was sick enough when they announced the Joakim Noah pick.. Seeing him on the podium with a Bulls cap on in full HD would have sent my nausea over the edge..

I'm not a Bulls fan but I kind of agree. Don't they already have a high-motor big man that can't shoot? (B.W.) To whom they paid a LOT of money? Do they really need another one?

I agree that the "Draft Graphics" suck especially for Sportscenter. Any time they have a Draft, I am always thinking, "forget about watching Sportscenter tonight in HD". I appreciate the information going across about who was drafted where, but do they need to keep those ridiculous graphics going for Sportscenter?

Someone (probably Jay Bilas) said something during the telecast like "and that was in HD!" thinking they were broadcasting in HD. Just some passing comment.

I nearly screamed after he said that. THIS ISN'T IN HD!

I'm sure someone got in his ear and corrected him.

I say, YES, they do. Some folks don't want to park themselves in front of the draft (or record it) for 4 1/2 to 5 hours, but they do want to know who drafted whom.

Chill, bro, it's only one day and you'll be back to normal the next day.

It was Stuart Scott...

And I DID yell exactly that at the TV... along with a few expletives.

Those guys are used to everything studio wise at ESPN being HD so it probably just slipped past everyone, not to mention several of the player clip packages may have used HD video from CBS or ESPN games (that was cropped out by the ticker downstream of the studio), so Bristol based talent may have in fact been seeing HD video in their monitors in the studio (even though it was not ultimately ending up HD on the air).
