I would like your opinion on how comfortable the 88's are. I'm thinking about purchasing 5 in one row. I am 6'2 230pds and will use the room for movies, TV (at times) and PS3. I've seen a lot of pics of these in members theaters but not with people sitting in them.
Thanks!
Walt,
i would first goto www.berkline.com and in the top right hand corner you will see a box under dealer locator where you type in your zip code to find dealers in your area. I would then in turn call them to see if any have theater seating on display as well as fabric/leather swatches. Nothing beats a demo if any of the dealers have stock.
Being that you are 6'2" i would want to demo the seats to see if there would be any compromise in head support for you. the 45004 if you are looking to save space would be my suggestion since this model has a taller back and is slightly wider. Depending on chosen leather they would also be close to the same price (088 and 45004).
I'm sure you will get opinions from various members which will be helpful but comfort is a very personal thing and since you are one of those taller folks i would look at the 088 carefully to see if they fit the bill. No use spending 2-3k on chairs if it's not the right choice for you, you could have several members with your same build saying the 088 is a very good choice but for "Walt" it's not the right chair for whatever reason.
Thanks for the response!
Unfortunately the only seats I was able to try out were the 90's in microfiber and whatever seats they sold at BB which I did like.
Personally, I don't care for a high headrest because very seldom do I recline to that extent where it would be needed. I'm guessing they aren't "bad" because a lot of people have them. I guess it will be a chance I have to take and hopefully they will work out.
Maybe others will chime in :)

I bought mine earlier this year and have absolutely loved them, as have my wife and kids.
My wife has spent more time in my HT that last couple of months than the previous year (she hates being in the basement) due to the chairs :)
If you don't mind me asking....Are you about the same height/build? I think the chairs would work well for most people, just looking out for number one :D

My 6'1" 200lb brother has sat in them for a long period of time (like all 3 extended editions of the LOTR in a row) with no issues.

We've had ours for about two years now. We really do like them especially with the power recline. I'm only 6' , about 190 lbs. I do find that because of the lower back, if I recline, which is most of the time, I do use a pillow behind my head and it is fine.
Also keep in mind that the chair back should not be too high so as to not block rear / side speakers.
I am 6'2" 215lbs, and I find these chairs to be perfect...
Thanks everyone! I just placed an order for 5 seats today!
