I would like to mount my Pioneer Plasma PRO1110HD to an Ethan Allen video panel model 13-9656-450. The mounts I have been looking at come with 3" lag bolts so the brackets can be mounted to the wall via 2x4 studs. The video panel, made of wood, is about .75" thick. Using 3" lag bolts would mean about 2 - 2.25" of the lag bolt would stick out the back of the video panel. Is there another way of doing this? How have other people done this?

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks,
Mike

Try sending a PM to mr2uboy. He has a 46" LCD mounted to an Ethan Allen panel.
Here's a link to his post with pics: http://www.avsforum.com/avs-vb/showthread.php?p=10638392&&#post10638392

Thanks Broderquin, but mr2uboy doesn't receive pm's.

Given it's a 3/4" thick panel, I would think the mounting method would involve bolts, washers and nuts, given you can access the rear of the panel.

thanks kucharsk, that's what i was thinking also, just wasn't sure. i stopped by lowes this morning and i can get grade 8, 5/16" bolts. may be overkill, but i think that's what i will go with.

Should I be worried that the depth on the thickest part is only 1.5". Will the panel support the mount? Did you attach the mount to the thicker "stud-like" area or the thinner area?

Anyone know how this was mounted?

I have a similar panel from Ethan Allen. It has a square opening in the middle of it. It is secured to the base by two 'u' bars. The panel is only about .5" thick. My TV is a 58" Panasonic. Any help would be *GREATLY* appreciated!

remember the washers on the backside of the panel, that will matter a bunch

Xtabi, did you every figure out how to mount the TV to the unit? I just bought a Panasonic 50" HDTV and am trying to figure out how to mount it to the same video base (small square opening in the middle of a .5" thick back panel; itself mounted to a pair of 'u' bars).
