Perian wanted to phone home to "check for updates" every time eyeTV started.
That featue can be disabled in System Preferences.

A script to give the newly supported files a better looking icon.

It is VERY slow loading the files, but it does run 1080p and 720p BD and HDDVD x264/ac3 backups with no issues within the MKV container.

If they could get it as quick as VLC, I'd be really happy. Still, better than nothing.

If MKV supports H.264 and AC3 audio, can we use Perian 1.0 to export eyeTV HD recordings (MPEG2 transport streams with AC3 audio) to H.264/AC3 audio. Currently, I believe the MP4 container does not support AC3.

What I want to know is can I play AC3 content via Quicktime with Perian 1.0 installed.

If you do watch the same file more than once, Just save it as a QT file. The next time you open it. It's instant.
