I didn't quite know where to put this on the forum, but I'm curious if it would be okay to play the new Dual Disc DVD's in the PS3? It's CD on one side and 5.1 DVD on the other. I have heard that you shouldn't play them on certain DVD players because the thickness of the disc. I have a Sony 400 DVD changer for instance that says specifically NOT to play them because they can cause a jam up due to their thickness compared to normal DVD's. Anybody know the true story on this? I would hate to jam up my PS3 with a Dual Disc. I seemed to have misplaced my owner's manual so I can't look it up. I'm looking forward to playing this new Dual Disc of "With Teeth" from Nine Inch Nails in 5.1, but I'll hold off until I know it's safe. I think it might even sound better than their concert Blu-ray that came out a few months back, which I also happily own. Can anybody help me? Thanks

I'm guessing it would be fine.

The official press release (from 2005) says that it compatible with the DualDisc format: http://www.us.playstation.com/News/PressReleases/279

I would've tried it myself with one I own but what you said about them causing damage has prevented me from doing so ;)

I wouldn't expect any trouble with them. I believe the warning was mostly in regards to smaller CD players found in cars (although ones that do slot-load like the PS3).

I also have several duals - never an issue. The DVD side is just a DVD so it's all good.

Great, thanks for the help. I just wanted to be certain before trying it out. I'll give it a shot now.
