OK first things first, don't be fooled by the name I have only this week turned format neutal and came up with the name before I even had thoughts about doing so, so please no flaming.
Right I've had my PS3 for about 3 days now and I am currently downloading the Crash Bandicoot classic. It has taken over 20 minutes to complete only about 15% of the download, during this time I switched from wireless to wired to see if it made any difference but it doesn't seem to have had.
Please can someone tell me the time downloading should take and what could be slowing it down.
Many thanks in advance :)

Quite a few things affect download speed, but since the download you are trying to make is a PS1 game that is likely several hundred megabytes, I think 20minutes for 15% might not necessarily indicate a problem/bottleneck.

That Crash file is also fairly big, as I recall. Sometimes it does run slower than others, but with the download manager, you can just let it do it's thing while you do other things.

welcome to the ps3 owners crowd BTW.

we don't bite........................................................ ........... often lol.

it takes longer to download games and demos from the psn during high traffic times (like when new stuff is released or in the evening when everyone is on) so i tend to wait till after midnight and the downloads tend to be faster that way.

thanks

I just set it up to download, switch the TV to cable, and watch TV for a while. Never a big deal for me.
