The game is crashing me back to playstation main menu (XMB)when playing OFFLINE :eek: in coop terrorist story mode in split screen with a partner. The game is crashing at DANTE'S THEATRE map, just after we interact with computer keyboard (hacking?) and terrorists begin attack. It occurred 6 times at consistent points in the firefight. I restarted PS3. I tried restarting the game. I even deleted the game utility file (not the save game file) and nothing worked. I cannot complete the mission before it kicks me back completely out of the game back to the PS3 XMB. I know there are reports that the game crashes during ONLINE play, but very few have reported game crashing during OFFLINE play. Has anyone experienced game crashing OFFLINE either in single player or split screen (multiplayer) mode?

The game randomly crashed for me once in offline play. I didn't have the consistent problem that you are having, however.

Sounds like a defective disk problem.

My friend and I played co-op on his setup all weekend and hadn't had one crash. A quick look at popular PS3 forums on the net shows that there isn't a general problem from other players of this game.

If you saved your receipt you can get a copy that works. Otherwise maybe your PS3 needs servicing.
