Guys,
I'm helping my friend with his whole house sound system. Currently, the house is wired with 4 sets of 2 speakers in 4 rooms. Each set of 2 has a transformer based volume control.
He also has a "home theater in a box" that we just installed in the living room.
Now, what he wants is to have the front 2 channels of the HTIB unit drive all the speakers in the house so they can enjoy CD music or whatever throughout the house.
What would I need to hook all these speakers up and properly load the amp? I was thinking of a Niles SS-6 to keep the impedence correct. I was also wondering if that amp will have the oats to drive all 10 speakers without unbalancing the surround system.
Do I need a separate amp for the house? If so, how do I get a signal off the HTIB to supply it? There are no line outs so would I need a "speaker to line" converter similar to a car stereo amp?
Thanks!
