What is the BEST HD receiver for Dish Network, I have the VIP 211 now and am not overly impressed. Thank you for your suggestions.

What are you not "overly impressed" about?

Dish Network (E*) has three HD receivers they use currently. The 211 is a single HD receiver, the 222 is a dual HD/SD receiver, and the 622 is a dual HD/SD receiver with a DVR. They are all MPEG 4 capable and all have local ATSC digital tuners to receive local OTA signals. These 3 receivers are basically the same for HD.

1) Lip sync problems from time to time. Actors speaking with lips out of sync with words.

2) I am on my third one (miscellous issues with the first 2 over a 3 year period) and last night while watching TV it just started buzzing, sound went off, and picture was breaking up (perfectly clear weather). I reset it and it worked correctly.

3) Picture quality in SD is very bad, soft and blurry. Already had Dish out to check satellite alignment and signal strength, said it was ok.

That really sucks I have the 522(SD DVR) and they are coming out Friday to install the HD 622. I hope we have better luck that you have had. I will let you know how it turns out this weekend.
