With the 10.4.10 update, my Mac Mini will hang on boot, if it's connected to my HDTV (or to my Sony AVR). It hangs at the end of the blue progress bar, just spinning forever. If I unplug the DVI cable at that point, or turn off the AVR, the Mac will proceed to boot, and re-connecting the cable or turning on the AVR later will not cause more hanging -- it just needs to get past that one hump.
I'm not alone to see this, either -- there's a thread about it over on the apple.com forums.
Has anyone here seen it? I have a late 2006 Intel Core Duo iMac with GMA 950 graphics. It didn't used to do it in 10.4.9.
Also, if I turn off the AVR when I'm viewing the Mac, and then turn on the AVR later, the Mac will no longer display on the DVI out (although there is still a screen through VNC). If I then sleep the Mac, and un-sleep it, the display comes back on the DVI output. That's the same with 10.4.10 as with the previous version. Has anyone seen this? Ideas?
