I received my new Pronto yesterday and all was fine until I tried to program in my Outlaw Audio preamp. The remote froze three times and will not operate my 990. The only operation It wll learn is the volume up button. Is my Pronto defective? Does anybody have any suggestion or advice>

Is it freezing while learning? Or is it freezing while using it?

I had trouble with ProntoEdit when trying to learn commands to buttons/commands that didn't have names.

It's freezing while learning. And if it does not freeze then it says failed for the commands it's trying to learn. I contacted Philips but they were of little help. They told me to try to have the Pronto learn the code. but I was unsure on how to do that. I nver got past the volume up and volume down buttons.

Now heres the kicker, it would learn the volume up command, but not the volume down.

That's an odd one. I've only ever had my Pronto lock up when trying to play tetris on it. Over at remote central, I see a bunch of configs with the 990 (http://www.remotecentral.com/cgi-bin/files/rcfiles.cgi?kw=outlaw&area=). Perhaps you could copy the hex from one of them instead of learning the code.
