Last night i had the pleasure of viewing our cities firework display.I viewed from the roof top of a down town building that gave me perfect view. After one of the larger mortar round type explosion I noticed the echo off one of the larger buildings in front of me.I felt that the delay blurred the sound of the next explosion. If I could have soundtreated the three larger buildings that I felt were causing the blurr, I would have enjoyed them better :) .
It would have probably taken about 80-90 acres of 4" OC 703 board to do this, but if you can't do it for the Fourth of July.......

Your right it did blur it or as we say time smear it. That wall acts like another speaker only way out of time, not just by small miliseconds but by ALOLT. That means that the comb filter started way down in the FR and got unbearable by the time any highs would be heard.

You hear it in all sorts of places, home, arena, outdoors. Anyplace that has a bare wall or other reflective surface and a loud enough sound source you can almost look at the wall and picture where the speaker would be on that wall or other surface. At the FOH position in our show I have a hard flat spot on the desk to left of the mixer. Hi Hats sound like they are coming right from it. The size of the square is about a foot so I put some cloth on it and it goes away. Happens everywhere.
