Just imported Hostel from UK amazon. The case is as thick as a SD DVD case but otherwise same length/width/color as a standard US BD case.

Is this the "case" for all import BDs or just this one for some reason? I sort of prefer uniformity and might have to swap this case for a thinner one.

It's no big deal in my opinion. I'm pretty much a perfectionist when it comes to displaying my HD DVDs and BDs, and I have no problem with the incongruities in case width. Other than being thicker, the UK cases match up perfectly with the slimmer ones. If anything, it adds more character to your collection. :)

I had the same problem with my Children of Men UK HD DVD import. The case is also thicker (and uglier) and I ended up trying to replace the case with the standard US version. The problem was, it won't fit correctly since the cover is bigger to compensate for the bigger case.

I've only got one European BD thus far, the French BD of OSS 117 and it also is in a thicker case.

You can get replacement cases at
Www.sleevetown.com
They sell Blu-ray and HDDVD cases.

But I like the UK HDDVD cases as they are thicker and have the logo raised in silver color...
I bought cases for a few japan imports. As they like to use regular dvd case.

Japanese HD DVDs are in DVD cases. Their BDs are in regular BD cases are they not? I've got two BDs on order from Japan so I want to know what to expect. ;)

You do realize that the cover insert is also bigger, right?

You got a link to smaller inserts for every imported Blu-ray movie?

Except for the first few wave of HD DVD titles that came with DVD cases the latest ones have HD DVD cases.

That's good to hear. The only ones I had seen in person were Equilibrium and Reign Of Fire which were both in DVD cases.

I despise the US thin cases because the spines are rounded and hard to read. I wish all my cases were the thick UK ones.

Agreed, the thick cases really do look better on a shelf.

Thinking inside the box. I like it.
