Hello all. I have a small speaker wire running issue. I was originally going to run the wire under my baseboards. After further inspecting the room that isn't possible due to doors and floor changes, ect. I was then going to go to Home Depot and buy some wire runs and paint them to match. I went and bought a small sample to test it. I painted the plastic to match my interior and it turned out horrible. It was very visable and the wife wouldn't have it.

I then had this crazy idea...what if I take a small sheet rock knife and score a line around the room and tuck the cables into the hole. Will that work? Has anyone else ever done that? My wife told me I was nuts but with some putty and sanding it will look as good as new. Just wondering if I've finally fallen off the deep end this time. Thanks!

Allow me to start by saying I know this not a direct answer to what you asked. Having said that, my wife's sister's husband used flat speaker wire and painted over it with textured paint.

I specifically looked for the wires and I could not see them.

If nothing else, this could at least be an alternative.

Very interesting idea, might be tough to match the paint unless your willing to paint the whole room though.

Think geek has a wireless T amp and Amazon has another one, but I can't post links yet cuz I'm a noob. I don't know if they are recommended here or not, but it's something I've been considering.

Can you get to the attic or space above the ceiling? Do you have carpeting? They also make flat speaker wire for running along baseboards. Try http://www.partsexpress.com/webpage.cfm&WebPage_ID=40&CFID=1776152&CFTOKEN=78979261

Good luck!

That direct link doesn't (it may be session-specific). I did a search under "flat speaker wire" and either looked past or didn't see anything for baseboard-specific wire.

Try Rat Shack for flat speaker wire http://www.radioshack.com/family/index.jsp?categoryId=2032241&cp=2032058.2032227&allCount=77&fbc=1&f=PAD%2FCable+Type%2FFlat+cable&fbn=Cable+type%2FFlat+cable
