I really want a small, good sounding sat system for my new apartment. The room is small, 10x15. I'll have a Samsung 46" LCD and one of the mid-range receivers, possibly Onkyo 605 or 674, Marantz 4001, Sony DG1000... Usage will be almost all TV, movies, games... a little bit of music.

I'm wondering if other people have compared these two speaker packages, and what made you choose one over the other. KEF is $1500, Orb is $1049. I think the style of the Orbs might be slightly better, but since the KEFs are larger, that may give them some advantage, and they look pretty nice too. Pics of each:

i was looking into these at first because i want smaller speakers that fill my pretty small room, but for that amount of money, i am going to get a definitive setup with two promonitor 1000's up front , the procenter 2000, and two promonitor 800s for surround . i also have a samsung 46" lcd, and i am getting the onkyo 605. these speakers are bigger than the systems you are looking at , but probably sound nicer and are still pretty small. they can crank though and the gloss black matches the samsung nicely. if you want small speakers all around, look into their procinema800 package.

I was just looking into the ProCinemas after reading about them on another thread (http://www.avsforum.com/avs-vb/showthread.php?p=10969438). Do you think they sound that much better than the other two systems? Bear in mind that I'll be in a pretty small room and since it's a co-op building, I can't listen too loud... Neighbors on all sides!

I'll throw 2 pennies in: I own Gallo Micros (similar to Orbs), and went and auditioned the Def Techs. The Def Tech ProCinemas 600 and 800 had better highs, but didn't seem to have the same quality midrange/high bass as my Micros. The 1000s were better, but are quite a bit larger. Granted, these were compared from my home properly set up and a Magnolia store, so setup could be questionable.
