Hi,
I've got an I/O Data LinkPlayer 2. I have HD content recorded on my Mac using EyeTV. The content is 1920x1080 and the bit rate is 17-18MBPs. Streaming the content to the LP2 over 100Mbit ethernet works just fine. However, my house is not wired with Cat5, so I picked up a Linksys PLK200 set, as I had read very good results. Trying various outlets around the basement, I can get anywhere from 85 to 150Mbps, according to the PLE200 configuration utility. However, if I try to stream my HD content over the PLE200 to the LP2, The LP2 will stutter so bad it is unwatchable. However, if I connect my MacBook up to the PLE200 which the LP2 is connected to, the HD content streams flawlessly when using VLC to play the MPEG2 program stream. ???

Does anyone have experience streaming HD content using HomePlug AV networks? I really thought it would perform better based on the reviews I've read.

don't believe everything you read in the internet. Could be a HomePlug sales guy giving feedback. I've read somewhere that HomePlug performance is about the same as wireless G, despite the technology. I guess nothing beats hardwiring with CAT5.
