I just started working on my dedicated home theatre, it is (was) the forth bedroom in the basement, approximately 19x12. The room is a real work in progress so disregard everything below the bulkhead :).

I thought I'd share what I did with the bulkhead because I was really pleased with the way it turned out... what do you all think?

Looks good. Can you reach it easily?

Good idea...
I would paint the shelf white to match your trim, and paint the short wall behind the DVD to match the wall color. It would provide great contrast.

Couple of good LFE moments and those would all be coming down for me :-) lol

There will be some changes to the paint colour for sure, the 'mustard' yellow is gone, we are going with a brown, a dark chocolate brown I belive, so I was thinking of staining the shelf a dark brown as well... trying to decide what colour to paint the ceiling, thought we may paint it a dark brown as well, so all the walls and ceilings will be the same, the trim would stay white and the wood would be stained.

The 'boob' light also has gotta go, we want to put some pot lights in, but are a little afraid to do it ourselves because the ceiling is finished, may gave to bring in a professional to do it.
