Hello,
I have a Harmony 890 and a Velodyne Digital DD-15. I was trying to use the Harmony to control the Velodyne, but it does not seem to recognize the signal? I thought both were RF? Is this a possible fit?
Thanks JR

I think the 890 only transmits RF to the IR receiver and then the receiver outputs IR. I don't believe it can send out a controlling RF signal.
Can you teach the RF remotes signals to the 890 manually?

Hello,
I do believe so, because it controls my plasma.
Thanks JR

erm, let me try again.
Is the Velodyne remote IR or RF?
If it is RF, can you teach the Velodyne remote to the Harmony 890 manually?

Hello,
I retrained the remote and it seems to wok now.
Thanks JR

I'm glad that you got your remote to work. Just so you know the velodyne is IR only, and uses basic toggle commands for everything(suck) instead of discrete commands.
so now that the velodyne is being controlled (although not sure why you want to, beyond setup) what happens is your 890 transmits to a base unit via RF & everything is translated into IR for overall operation.
