Please don't even bother shopping at best buy, they suck. High Prices and a crappy HD selection (HD as in both HD and BD). THeir player prices are insane and they ahve a small overall selection of players.

No kidding. That is alway at the very least a twenty spot and most of the time its twenty five. Nice way to get PS3 owners buying some movies. :)

I was just thinking about BB prices and this is not as sweet as it first sounds considering the money you save on the remote has to be spread across 3 Blu-Rays at regular BB prices. At least compared to Fry's prices.

That's fine, if you don't like BB, I only shop there mostly for software, but please at least suggest some where else to shop.. You sound like Michael Moore in the movie "Sicko" here are all the problems we have with health care, and rarely points out on how to fix them... What I find out more ironic is the guy is 300+ pounds and he wonders why we have a health care crisis... ever here of a treadmill!! Sorry not intended for a flame, but at least suggest some thing like CC or another HiFi store... ;)

When you buy three movies POTC 1,2 and ???
And you have to buy all three movies or just one of the three ?
I am guessing this should read "when you buy one of three Disney Movies"

The way the first post was written, it means out of a select batch of Disney blu-rays, you need to buy 3. Considering Best Buy prices those around 30 a pop, I'm not anxious to go spend 90 bucks just to get a remote or a $15 gift card.

It is true, BB prices stink, but I do have tons of reward certs.

Amazon has most of those DVDs for 23.95 with free shipping and no tax. Not sure if that's a very good deal.

Buy.com has the same titles for $22 each (and a few of them for $15) plus $10 off with Google checkout. Even without Google checkout, the prices are still better than BB. Could care less about a remote for a PS3 since I don't own one, and the $15 gift card is not much of an incentive to be bothered with BB. But thanks for the heads up.

U were able to jump from whether to shop at BB to Moore's movie "Sicko" WOW-sounds like someone's looking for a reason to rant on the film.

Perhaps you should try watching it with your eyes open. Don't you think that after showing you places around the world that have better systems he's implying that we should adopt some of their best practices? It's not rock science here.

Most Americans have bought into the HMO's B.S. about how it's not fixable or how we will somehow get inferior service when it's all B.S. When a crappy little country like Cuba can do it what does it say about us when we can't? Are we a crappy big country?

In any case, the BB deal doesn't really sound like a deal to me. I would rather wait until a better deal comes. Even the Fox sale was much better than this. I do find however, that BB does have great sales everyweek when they sell regular DVD's for $4.99. Some of those titles I don't need to see in HD so it's perfect.

Best buy also has another deal for Reward Zone members where you get a ten dollar entertainment (movies, music, video games) gift card with a hundred dollars in entertainment purchases. Combine the two and it is a little better.

I don't prefer to shop there either, but don't forget that BB is the number one consumer electronics shop in the country in terms of revenue. Somebody must like them, and his name is J6P. J6P doesn't know about the lower prices for HD-DVD and Blu-ray at places like amazon because: 1) he probably isn't interested in buying either, 2) his son that got a ps3 for his birthday wants Pirates of the Caribbean Blu-ray to play on his 32" analog TV set hooked up with composite video, and 3) he buys it in Best Buy because he feels more comfortable doing so and doesn't realize there is such a price difference between the store and other online retailers. This is why there are such high prices in the HD section, and I'm sure the company's corporate office is aware that early adopters do their research and will probably buy online anyway.

Sorry, but that's not much of a deal, at least for me. $15 wont even buy me a BD or HD disc, and I don't have a PS3. Add the fact that Amazon has much cheaper prices, and I would actually lose on this "deal".

That might be the first time I've seen geologists implied as geniuses! ;)

It's still cheaper to go with Amazon by $0.42 ;)

BB: 3 Disney B-Rs at $29.99 = $89.97 + tax (for me) = $97.26 (via In-Store Pickup, no shipping).

Amazon: 3 Disney B-Rs at $23.95 + 1 PS3 remote at $24.99 (free shipping) = $96.84

This will be coming to a quick end with the high prices and low stock levels business model they are now using. People like me are running for the exits with much better stores to shop at such as Fry's Electronics.

Yup - saw the deal, went right by me. If I didn't have the remote already, it would be better - but 15/3 comes out around $5 per disk savings by my math; local wally world has both PotCs for 23 bucks, no games required.

I was much more interested in the HD-DVD deal in my flyer this week - $10 off per disk, for a number of disks, making end advertised price $15 per disk. I only wish they'd do a deal like that for BD.....

go to fry's then, where several recent titles are going for $12.50 each and many at no higher than $19.99. i just picked up hellboy over the weekend for $12.50 and blazing saddles for $13.99. when untouchables hits that price range i'll grab it too to justify having already spent $ on the latest dvd release.
