Can someone give a quick how too for connecting a Tvix to an Infrant Readynas. I've been playing with this all night but I can't get the Tvix to find any files over the network. I tried a bunch of different settings but every time I just get a "Error, Unable to connect to disk.

Do a search here in the forum, and you will find your answer. You are not alone to have problems with this.
I have a posted a few which describes how you can do it (so you can probably do a search on my postings).
A good guide here as well: http://www.mpcclub.com/modules.php?name=Forums&file=viewtopic&t=12699
Good luck!

OK I got it working and it works great. Now I am trying to figure out if there is a way to have a hidden folder for my R rated movies. Is this possible?

Don't think that is possible... as the tvix shows all my hidden files when browsing (regardless of my PC's settings). Maybe a seperate share will do the trick (as it will involve a more cumbersome way to select the share (for non-users), but quite easy for a experienced user)
I have "mapped" various PCs and a NAS into the Tvix, and I select each one with the numbers on the keypad/remote. 1 for NAS, 2 for Pc#1, 3 for Pc#2 share 1, 4 for Pc#2 share 2. Pc#2 running Allegro NFS so I can have multiple NFS mounts for multiple partitions. Pc#1 do the same thing doing Netshare (mapped partitions into "tvxhd1" share) ;)

OK I have another question. Is there a way to connect the TViX to a windows xp share using NFS, without having to install 3rd party software?

No...
NFS is not part of the default Xp installation. Nor Vista that I'm aware of.
You need Netshare, or other 3rd party NFS server, or Microsoft SFU.
Why do you ask? Not happy with Netshare?
I find Netshare to be sufficent for me, although I use both that and Allegro NFS on my various PCs.

I appreciate all of the great advice on this forum, which has streamlined my setup of my ReadyNAS NV (with Raidiator 3) and my TVix 4000P (diskless).
Nonetheless, I still can't seem to get the TVix to see any folders (I've set up both a tvixhk1 with NFS and the standard media with NFS, and referenced them as Disk 1 and Disk 2 in the TViX. I've also set all of the streaming options on on the REadyNAS.
The two devices are connected over a NetGear 10/100 router. This seems to be a pretty standard setup, which is used on this site. But I still don't see any folders, and am out of ideas.
Any suggestions on what to do next?

Ok...
On your RN you have set up an user account for tvxihd1, with the same password? (You need to switch to user-access (not share-access) to do this)
Further you have set up a share for your media files, and used the default sharename (e.g. "media")?
On your tvix you have also set up network for NFS, with mediashare/sharename as "media"?
Remember that the tvix will try to connect to your RN with a username and password set to "tvixhd1". So it it vital that you have created a user and also have the same sharename on both sides (in this example "media").
Have you tried Netshare(on a PC) and checked if that works thru your netgear router?
We need to sort out that your network is working properly (and netshare is a good tool in that respect). From there we can then debug your setup.
You could always send me a PM (and maybe attach some photos of your RN setup. If that doesn't work send me a PM and I'll send you my email)
Good luck.

Thanks and great feedback. I'll do some homework and get back to the forum
