hey guys I'm building a htpc based on ATI 2400 HD pro AGP in a win 7, P4 3.0 GHz, 2 gig ram. But have read a lot in this thread and am confused on what version of ati catalyst to install and what will be most stable when using DXVA acceleration. I'm reading a lot that i should install 8.4,8.5 and 9.11 ( i haven't been able to find the 9.11 AGP drivers for win 7 could someone post a link please ). I would love to hear from some users to confirm thank you. BTW This htpc will only be used for playing media files and watching bluray disks. Thankyou regards Marty.

right now im on 10.5, any above this blue screen with atidag.sys error.
Thread Necromancy :o
Anyone tried the latest AGP hotfixes (http://support.amd.com/us/kbarticles/Pages/CatalystAGPHotfix.aspx) with the 2600 Pro under XP?
Anyone running Win_7 with the same.? Looking to extend the life of an old box to give my youngster. :D

Hello, I'm a newbie here. Finally found a thread about the HD 2xxx series.
First of all, my laptop's specs:
- CPU: Intel Core 2 Duo T5750
- GPU: Mobility Radeon HD 2400 128MB
- 2GB DDR2 RAM
- Windows 7 Professional 64 bit version
- Catalyst 11.5
- MPCHC and Haali (32-bit versions, latest stable releases). No codec packs, ffdshow, or AVC Core.
Lately I'm having serious problems when trying to play 720p videos with profile 5.1 (16 ref frames) in MPCHC with DXVA enabled.
It all started when the latest driver updates enabled DXVA playback for video files with high profiles. Before that, DXVA would disable automatically, because the driver didn't give support to such videos. But now the added support is a pain in the ass, because I get a corrupted video, sometimes even corrupting the OS screen, and most of times, the system gets unstable and I get a BSOD. Even with the latest drivers released this month, the problem is still there.
I would want to know if anyone here, desktop or mobility HD 2X00 users are having the same issues. If there's any solution or workaround for this, I'll be grateful to know.
