I'll add these:

Air Force One
Men in Black
Das Boot
Taxi Driver (I hope this shows up with the new dvd)

I'm assuming we'll be getting Charlie's Angels 1/2 and Bad Boys II this year since they have also been featured in the BD promo clips.

I'd like to see the Bad Boy movies as well in HD. I do not have the Superbit versions, but my original SD versions could use a lot of remastering. Blu-Ray would be a nice improvement.

I really want Silverado, Taxi Driver and Devil in a Blue Dress from Sony. And yes, The Natural: Director's Cut and Jerry Maguire which went MIA after being on pre-sale on Amazon.

I'd like this film on BD as well. Banderas in a very fun film and of course the lovely Hayek.

Bram Stoker's Dracula, please...

And Comcast just aired in HD OnDemand what looked like a new HD transfer of Starship Troopers. Silence of The Lambs is this month....

Starship Troopers slated for 2007/08/22 release in Japan. I think it's available for pre-order in amazon.co.jp.

I thought Tekkon was being pulled or delayed? If not it's the first "true" anime title to be released in the US, (I consider Spirits Within borderline anime) And it's 2D animation at that, something they've shied away from in the US.

Now, where's Paprika?

Ghostbusters could use a brand new 24 bit surround mix. The movie cries out for a spectacular, new high quality mix... 7.1 perhaps?? There are a lot of sequences that look like they would be great for an aggressive mix.

Since Spielberg has nothing to do whatsoever with Columbia (Sony) anymore, they could release CE3k anytime they want.

Same with Spielberg's Universal movies on HD-DVD. Dreamworks is in business with Paramount now (Spielberg remains free to work with whomever he wants too though) so Universal could theoretically release pre-Amblin Spielberg flicks like "Duel" or "Jaws" on HD-DVD if they wanted. All studios don't want to piss off Steven in case a project comes up (a book, a script, an idea, etc.) that could get them working again with the most succesful movie director of all time. What little money/market share they'd make selling Spielberg's flicks on HD the studios are more than willing to sacrifice for another "War of the Worlds" or "Transformers"-size hit. :(

How about the Three Stooges shorts? The recently released colorized DVDs have been pissing off many purist fans (I actually liked some of them) with the fake color, and how Sony/Columbia put only four 15 minute shorts per DVD.

However, there was some good news. The big revelation were the pristine black and white prints they used. Just incredible quality. I'd love to get those in the best possible format.

Yes, Bram Stoker's Dracula and Underworld!! Bram's has to arguably be the best vampire movie ever made, not to mention Monica Bellucci in high def., I'm in heaven!

Curious though what ever happen to the BD release of Tristan and Isolde?

Dave Mack

Thanks Josh! Hope that date sticks!

Monica, yum...
Sadie Frost and Winona aren't too bad either.
Let's hope they give us all the extras planned for the impending 2 disc SE I heard was coming. If they do another bare bones I'm gonna open a can of whoopass on Sony!

Dr. Strangelove would be a good one to release, since Warner are releasing their Kubrick titles this fall.

Any word on if/when Rent will be released in the US? It's been available in Japan since last fall, but I'd rather just wait for a cheaper US release.

I imagine they'll hold off on The Dark Crystal until the new movie comes out.

It would be nice if they could get started on Seinfeld soon. I'd like to at least see what it looks like in HD.

The others I'd want have been mentioned, except The Mask of Zorro and Stand By Me.

Add me to the list of people happy to snatch up (again) Underworld and Dracula.

Would make for a happy Halloween.

Ghostbusters would be a natural too, but with the quality Sony's been putting out lately, I'm happy to let them spend some time on titles too, rather than rush them out from dated masters.

I think Speilberg is one of the greatest directors of all time. At this moment though, I think he is the biggest ass hole and selfish prick that ever graced the Earth. Between him and Disney WTF are they waiting for? The baby boomers to die? A certain portion of the population to turn into Pumpkins? I mean release the damn movies for crying out loud! What could they possible be waiting for?

I wonder, could we expect a Fall 2008 release for the Ghosbusters movies to coincide with the new game?

I really wish alll studios would start pumping out popular movies like crazy. The faster one side has a ton of movies everyone wants and less *filler* the faster one becomes standard. Although, to be honest, I don't mind the B1G1 sales :).
