newbie here - be gentle :o

i've narrowed down my choices to the Helios and TViX (although the Ziova CS505 warrants consideration too). i've lurked on any number of forums for months now, and it's time to make a decision. all help / opinions / guidance is appreciated.

what i'm trying to do is fairly simple, and from what i've seen all the boxes can do it. all our music and movies are in the process of being ripped to a Lacie NAS, which i want to access through a wired media extender to play over a Pioneer a/v receiver and a Samsung 50" DLP.

i'm a little confused about the GUI / server software for each, but would be comfortable "serving" the music from our wireless PC to the extender since it seems the software for these boxes are, um, lacking.

my only criteria, in no particular order:

- FLAC support
- .ISO, or something similarly easy to navigate so i can get our DVDs out of the living room
- ability upconvert
- HD-DVD and BluRay don't matter to me
- wireless isn't an issue either, the extender will be connected to the network via powerline

a robust user community, good support and high WAF are all important to me too.

thanks for any advice!
