So after researching both formats for months I have chosen Blu ray Disc. Picked up the Panasonic DMP-BD10A. Apparently these are hard to find. This player was an easy choice since it came with Five free movies. I plan on selling Crash, Transporter and Fantastic Four.

Currently the movies look a tad bit more interesting on HD DVD(because of WB) but I cannot deny the potential of Blu ray and all the movie studios aligned with it.

So I am thinking of blindly picking up some movies and am hoping for a little input on what you guys think:

Casino Royal

Black Hawk Down

The Patriot

I've never seen these movies but they look very interesting.

Thanks guys. i need some good material to hold me over until batman Begins comes out. Love the Panny player though. Much faster than I expected. Watching Pirates 2 right now and it it breathtaking

Try watching apocalypto as well. Excellent movie and transfer !
I also enjoyed Kingdom of Heaven and it had great PQ.
