View Full Version : Predictions for MS's E3 conference?
GalvatronType_R 07-10-07, 10:04 AM -360 price will be cut ($100 for Elite, $50 for Premium and Core)
-Mass Effect and Too Human will be delayed until 2008
-Xbox Live will get new features but subscription price will go up
-GTA IV will have exclusive 360 downloadable content (known but will be made official)
-another PS3 exclusive will go multiplatform (MGS4 anyone?)
Mindwarper 07-10-07, 01:50 PM I want an new ssx announcement.
I want a few playable demos....hopefully a longer area 51 demo.
I doubt xbox live will increase price.
65nm will be announced
hdmi will be on all future models
I don't see a price cut soon. Maybe at xmas.
NorthJersey 07-10-07, 02:35 PM I say a white Elite will be available around Xmas time, but what they won't be saying is that it'll be using the 65nm
They'll also announce the price cut on the 360 models
probably more info on the Broadband TV blade available later this year
Mike LS 07-10-07, 02:45 PM Xbox Live will get new features but subscription price will go up
With their closest competitor offering a free (although inferior at this time) online service? No way this will happen. Maybe they'll add new features, but most every feature that has been added (major feature anyway) has an extra price tag on it, but no way they'll raise the monthly subscription rate.
Replicant Nexus6 07-10-07, 03:06 PM My Predictions-
Bioshock will be bigger and more anticipated after an awesome playable demo
Kane and Lynch will be the "talk" of the show and earn some "Best of Show" accolades
Halo Wars gets a playable build, favorable impressions and some steady, rolling buzz...
What do I get if I'm right?.. An Elite.... A Zune.... A slice of Pizza... Come on... Anyone?..
Mass Effect delayed until 2008 which is what has been speculated for the past month or two.
The Elite will get a 50 dollar price cut;
EA will not announce anything about the next SSX game to the chagrin of myself.

While you have a good point, if MS raises the price to $60 from $50 ($5/month), to me, that's not asking too much considering how good XBL is. Also, they can spin the tired "you get what you pay for" schtick if Sony starts crowing about their free online service.
* The MS mantra will be "The best lineup of games EVER"
* Peter Moore will show off a new tattoo. (probably for MGS4 coming to 360 day and date with PS3).
* They will NOT officially 'announce' the 65nm chips, however it will be made very clear through various 'leaks' that 65nm is coming very soon.
* Halo3 campaign details with gameplay video released.
* Viva Pinata 2 announced (along with a few other far away games being announced).
* Video of various games that have been very quite lately (halo wars, banjo kazooie, etc..)
* The focus will be on games, games, games - again, best lineup ever.
* No new announcement for Live services - just because the winter update is too far away and no point to announce features so early.
jason10mm 07-10-07, 03:26 PM The IPTV thing would be interesting, but I want to see exclusive games, more exclusive games, and some indication that the zune is not dead. I'm getting close to springing for a video ipod or zune, so I want a good reason to go for the zune. Increased WIRELESS commo with the 360 and maybe some games would do it.

I think there's a >50% chance we'll see MGS4 ported to the 360, but I dont think we'll see it at E3 unless Konami's pulling a Sony "We have no price cut planned", then cut prices the next day kinda thing.
This article was on reuters last night.
"I wonder if Sony can win back user support by the price cut of just $100," Kazumi Kitaue, the head of Konami's North American and European operations, told Reuters in an interview ahead of this week's E3 video game industry trade show.
"I don't expect a substantial impact ... With $500, you can buy a personal computer."
.......
Its high price and a lack of attractive software have been cited as major reasons for the PS3's plight.
Kitaue said Konami may need to expand the target hardware for its blockbuster fighting game Metal Gear Solid, which has so far been developed for Sony's PlayStation machines, to other consoles in the future to recoup development costs.
"Since Metal Gear Solid was born for the PlayStation, we would like to keep it a PlayStation game. But we might have to take some steps," Kitaue said.
Konami plans to launch Metal Gear Solid 4: Guns of the Patriots for the PS3 in the current business year to March 2008.
larrimore 07-10-07, 03:42 PM $100 cut on Elite
$75 cut on Pro
$50 cut on Core
$70 cut on HD Drive
I am in for the pizza!
Jeff Flowerday 07-10-07, 03:46 PM How about an official release date for the Qwerty keyboard attachment....

RUMOR: 4th xbox sku to be released tonight.
The 2 in the middle are possibly the core & premium. the one on the right is the elite. What's the gray one on the left?
Edit: it's possible that the one on the left is the black elite (matte). Hard to tell with the lighting. The new 360 may be the one on the right (piano black?).
A 99.99 120gb hard drive would be nice. :D
a $75 HDDVD player will be great +

I know for a fact that the Zune is not dead. I don't work for Microsoft, but pretty much every one of my neighbors does.

I don't see a reason not to go for one now. It's not a bad player. I'm personally not really turned on by the iPod (I have both)....the click wheel thing gets old when you have a ton of tracks.
Yes, the Pod is more refined, but it's also on it's 5th revision, so that's to be expected. The Zune has nowhere to go but up. MS won't let it die that easy.
Chevron07 07-10-07, 09:19 PM Hmmm... I wonder what they're alluding to here:
Just a Reminder: E3 Begins Tonight!
Posted by lukems at 7/10/2007 11:49 AM PDT
In case you've just crawled out of a hole after sleeping for the last year, E3 begins tonight and Microsoft's Press Conference gets underway at 11:30 p.m. ET / 8:30 p.m. PT. The goodly folks over at Xbox.com will be streaming the conference live for you to view over the Internetz. Additionally, it's probably worth your while to keep checking the Bungie.net Interwebz destination in case stuff and/or things occur that require your presence.
