Ok. I have a Philips 42PFL7432D LCD TV.

And I have a peerless touch tilt wall mount.

My question is this. Where do I drill the hole to place the cables coming from the TV. Do I cut the hole under the mount? If so how far?

What is the best tool for cutting through drywall?

Should I cut a circle or a square. I was thinking of cutting a circle and placing a molded gasket around the hole kind of like in computer desks that have the hole drilled on the top for cable management.

Thanks for any help guys.

Yikes, dude, give us more than 90 minutes to reply! You are probably in the wrong forum but.....

1. Work out where the center of your mount is in relation to your TV. For mine it was the bottom part of the bracket. Your instructions should tell you.
2. Measure how far down the open area for access to your inputs on your LCD are and measure that distance from the center of the screen.
3. Put the mount where you want it.
4. Measure down and make your holes (use a drywall saw)
5. It's not rocket science.....

Make sure you use UL rated cables etc. for in-wall use. Do not run the TVs power cable through the wall. Check out my thread for more on this.....

Thanks a lot. I was just anxious.

BTW. I have heard of people placing power cables behind the wall. Whats the link to your thread?

Power cables aren't rated to go behind walls. In the event of a fire no insurance company will pay out when they find out that there was a power cable trapped behind the wall. Pulling Romex up to an outlet mounted in the wall behind the TV is safer, code-compliant and not difficult to do.
