Where did they go to driving school??? Cole Trickle's rubbin is racing school?? Farther I get in to the game the AI is getting much worse. After few great laps the AI would just tap me in the rear spinning me out. Its not realistic at all, in real racing that would be automatic black flagging, ofcourse its pretty much impossible to spin out the AI drivers. Microsoft was tauting that forza 2 AI was all new and smart?? Does smart mean basically they programmed them to attack and cause a spin out?

Frustrating as heck- I finally keep my car on the track long enough for a 15 lap race and some bonehead AI car taps me into the dirt.

M. Rossi and J. Davis are total jerkoffs. Many, many times have I been late in a race where I've had first place locked up for a couple laps and on one of the last couple turns I get tapped in the rear and spun out. And -- if you notice, if you try to smash them you just bounce off and it does nothing. Seriously, the only downside of the game.

I've noticed that this has the same AI "feature" as Forza 1 had...

If you are leading a race in equal powered cars, the AI will CONTINUALLY fall behind you.

However, if you are behind, the AI drivers go ballistic and takes 2 or 3 laps to catch up with them.

Its like they say: "Ah screw it....we lost"

And I'm sure you've never touched an AI's car, right?

As far as racing games go I've never played against an AI that was so cautious and aware of my presence. I can late break them and take the inside of a corner and they slow down and go high up on the turn rather then just ramming me like they would in Gran Turismo.

You should go play online and see how often you get bumped. The AI are a treat after playing online.

Accidents happen, you can't have some perfect AI without them breaking the laws of physics in the game. If you're getting bumped, they're driving faster then you are and looking to pass. I think it's natural to place blame, especially on a computer, but chances are you are the one getting sloppy and unpredictable on the turns.

I agree with this, very annoying. They should pull over and let you pass or at least take tighter corners when they see you coming.

LOL. This is hilarious, because I thought I was the only one lookin' for a lil payback after being spun out.... :D ...so after my road rage.......while sliding sideways at high velocity...I can still see the AI car STILL on the track, or getting back on it quite effortlessly....

Thanks guys, I feel better now :)

Yeh only way for me to get them back is hitting them at 100mph when they slow down to turn. Ofcourse they miracuasly get right back on to the track like nothing happend.

I wish they wouldn't have made the physics so super realistic but allow things like damage and cars hitting you to be so fake (little to no negative effect on the person hitting you, while you pretty much get screwed for the race). After the initial day or two of playing Forza I really got burnt out on it, it's just not that great of a racing game IMO.

It's because the AI have all the driving aids turned on and then some. I'll bet you couldn't even budge a Lotus Elan if you were in a big block Chevelle. I hate the little spin move they put on you and you can't EVER do it to them.

Still I have seen the AI do some extremely stupid stuff. In the Corvette challenge the Lingenfelter AI corvette was about 10 seconds ahead of me coming up to the last lap. This race runs the New York track in reverse direction. On the last corner before the finish line he slams right into the corner/wall trying to turn too tight. I just coasted on past for the win.

Another time on the same track only running the normal way around in the American Iron race I think, one of the Mustangs hits that same corner/wall (first corner after the start/finish line) trying to turn too tight. The really sad part is that I completed that lap and on the next time around the same A.I. car is still there backing up and then hitting the wall, then backing up and hitting the wall. He finally made it past that corner, but was almost two laps down to me. There must be something wrong about that corner for the AI.

^^ yep, reverse NY is fun to watch. The AI is completely bugged on the sharp turn... I guess they aren't familiar with that track

I think my issue with the AI is getting tapped from behind. Sometimes I don't even see it coming. It's amazing how slow they are at turns when they are in front of you... they make it difficult to get pass cleanly. I have to keep smashing the brakes when I'm right behind the slow idiots. But when you are in front... all of a sudden they are so quick and tight to my back bumper, that they are tapping me out of line?

Anyway, I think one fault with the audio is that the engine sounds don't gradually increase and decrease as you near other vehicles... there seems to be only 4 engine "volumes". I'd like it if it got extremely louder when cars are very close to you. Since you can't turn your head to the side, this would compensate for the huge blind sides in hood view. Coupled with good surround sound, you'd probably tense up when surrounded by 3 loud engines!

AI will catch up fast with 2 laps to go. Also they don't take as much damage as you do. I saw a Vette get its rear crumpled and on the replay there was no damage noted. Also when then pit, they come out 100% regardless how they look. But then the AI will also slow down with 1-2 laps to go if they are in the lead. They mostly follow the racing line and it you wander off and on the line they will hit you. They do brake if they have a chance, Just watch some of the replays and sometimes you can see them braking as you cut in front.
