View Full Version : Forza 2 has turned me into an agressive driver
scotty144 07-10-07, 02:17 PM After a month with Forza 2 and the wheel I noticed today that I am driving my own car much, much more aggressive. Strange, here I am, a somewhat mature 38 year old terrorizing the streets now in my stage 3 WRX....anyone else having this issue?
I drive a Jeep Cherokee, if I drove like I do in Forza I'd roll it :)

Nope.... If anything I find myself driving better following a line, saving on gas and not chewing through my tires with half assed turns.
I find myself driving a bit more aggressive.
One time, after driving Forza all evening, I hopped into the family mini-van and was surprised at the position of the pedals. I had grown so used to the 360 pedals that the mini-van pedals did not seem right at first. :)
Daekwan 07-10-07, 02:37 PM Forget Forza 2.. take your WRX on a actual road course and get real professional instruction. It will make you a much better driver and you'll actually get better at video games like Forza 2 where the driving in the game is pretty realistic.
darthrsg 07-10-07, 02:46 PM I feel ya, after playing DiRT all weekend and last week, I hear my co-pilot "Right 1 into long..".
So it's true!? Video games really do influence people behavior?
Hope you people don't play too much FPS...

I always drive aggressive, its the nature of living in Nothern VA. Its kill or be killed.

just what we need, another idiot who can't seperate fantasy from reality.
protip: the highway is not a racetrack, you don't win anything after you get to your parents house first before everyone else.

You might want to take a look at the new Driver fines VA has in place..
Even something as simple as illegal lane change is a $1000 fine in addition to the normal ticket & court fees.

Thanks for the protip champ...I don't recall mentioning anything about racing on the streets...just driving more aggressively...you know, braking a little later, taking corners a little faster than usual.
NoThru22 07-10-07, 03:23 PM This did not happen to me with DiRT but it definitely happened to me when PGR 2 and 3 came out.

I'm scared more of soccer moms in their suvs talking on cell phones. Least wrxs hitting me doesn't hurt much as a hummer. Yes i've been ran off the road by a Escalade by a driver talking on a cellphone.
i guess it's a good thing you haven't been playing a lot of burnout revenge instead
Forza ok, it aint all that. The best was gran turismo for ps2 imo... Motorcycles was roadrash for ps1. I wish they had that for 360 online so you could kick and whip other people with chains and stuff. That was a good game :) As far as a video game influencing me to drive aggresive, i dont believe one has.
alucard_x 07-10-07, 03:44 PM pretty much the same thing happened to me when i Gran Turismo (first one) came out back in the day. i was right around 16-17 so it taught me how to drive like an ******* pretty early on.
seriously, however, i actually learned some good technique from the game.
meh. I always take the race line.

I agree i learned some technique from Need for Speed on the panasonic 3do.. :D
Teaches you how to weave in and out of traffic on the hiway.
Forza doesn't make me more aggressive. However, I really wanted to drive fast after seeing Transformers for some reason. Guess I still had some adrenaline left over. :)
Of course, I've been racing at tracks for years. I've never road raced, but I have autocrossed and drag raced.

I wonder how much traffic would straighten out if the officers enforced the rules we have now instead of making new ones. You know, like tickets for no turn signals.

right, because that's why you have a stage 3 wrx right?
You want to be aggressive? do it on a closed track, no one cares about your WRX in the streets, sorry to break it to you.

Good point...maybe I can find some next time I am down in Jersey...
Be careful about this thread. Al Sharpton will be all over the gaming industry if he hears about it!!!
I don't care what ricemobile you drive but the roads are congested with enough asshats down here that don't even play any video games to get cues from. You're 38, act like it.
Stryker412 07-10-07, 09:56 PM Try driving your car while listening to songs from Burnout. You'll want to hit a car for sure.

I blast Initial D soundtrack and try to do my best "drift king" impression. I've only ran over few minors and ran one suv off the road.

Wow, good job, you managed to insult many people in 1 clean swing. I was refreigning from posting but you sure are making it hard not to.
HeadRusch 07-10-07, 10:33 PM The worst drivers I find on the road aren't the backward-ballcap racing dudes with the $3000 bodykits on their $1000 beaters, its the 18-something girls with the beat-up Altimas or Lexuses talking on their cell phones, weaving in and out of traffic as thou they were all rockstar Divas and above the law or something :P
In relation to the thread: I hit the apex of every single turn on the highway now :)
football76 07-10-07, 10:50 PM Forza 2 has had an impact on my driving styles at work, yet not as much as DiRT-
My ride: stage 1 Greenish Yamaha Golf Cart :D You'd be suprised how fun those suckers are on wet grass!
(I work at a golf course- college student)
danieloneil01 07-10-07, 11:19 PM A game made you drive different? LOL
I always drive like a bat out of hell..
football76 07-10-07, 11:26 PM One of my favorite things to do in forza is use the camera controls as I'm drifting/burning out/ skidding, I try and reenact that on the golf carts. :p
KLUNKDM 07-11-07, 01:23 AM My wife tells me all the time now, that this isn't Forza when I'm driving......
Kysersose 07-11-07, 09:23 AM ihyln, has been suspended.
