So I finally have myself a decent receiver, and a Playstation 3 for my SACD player. Now has anyone used the PS3 for SACD before, and does it work pretty well? I'm learning about the whole DSD thing, and I'm still trying to see if my receiver works well with it, but since the PS3 mixes it to PCM, I'm hoping not much is lost. Also, any good ideas for a DVD-A player, I have the Toshiba A2, but I don't know if it supports it or not.

I'm assuming you are using HDMI output from the PS3 to the receiver. If so, you can get a Oppo 970HD and have Redbook, SACD, and DVD-A delivered as PCM via HDMI to the receiver.

Yeah I am, so I guess that should work. I also have analog ins on it, can I use those for it too? And will it sound just as good transferred through there as PCM instead of DSD?
The PS3 converts DSD to PCM at a double sampling rate compared to the Oppo using HDMI out . I doubt that Oppo has DSD to D/A conversion without converting first to PCM internally. Especially if you use the built in bass management features using the analog outputs.
I would use the PS3 for SACD and the Oppo for DVD-A. Both via HDMI.
