Im in the process of finishing a dedicated theater in my attic and I was wondering if I could get some opinions on the placement of my HD7100 per the following specs.
-First row of seats viewing distance will be approx. 10.5 feet from screen
- Second row will be on an 8" riser with an approx. viewing distance of 15.5 feet
-Screen size is 100" diagonal , white with a 1.2 gain
- Bottom of the Screen will be 32" from the the floor
-Projector will be ceiling mounted approx 10.6' from screen
-Room will have no ambient light with flat black ceiling, screen wall. Side walls will be dark grey.
Any feedback would be greatly appreciated.
_ I also placed this thread in the offical optoma HD7100 thread but I figured maybe I could get some suggestions in here too.

How big is the actual room? I don't see much to comment on here other then the projector mounting seems a bit close to me, but as long as it shoots the size image you want I guess it is ok, but have you considered the noise it makes right over peoples heads?

What other kinds of comments are you looking for?

The room is 14.5 feet wide x 18 feet long. The flat ceiling is 4ft wide to a slope of around 12/2 pitch to 5ft high vertical walls. Its in the attic of my 140yr old farm house. On the lowest bulb setting the noise is not a problem. For now Im using a pioneer elite receiver, oppo dvd player along with a full 7.1 set of svs sound speakers and sub.

Hopefully you are dealing with both sound isolation and the acoustic problems such a room will present, and the heating and especially cooling issues as well.
But you asked about placement and that seems ok, other than you don't mention your speaker placements.
A sketch or pictures of the room would be helpful as well for comments.

I purchased a 18,600 btu mini split system with a heat pump. It should be more than adequate for room size. For the sound isolation issue I have not come up with a cost effective way to fully sound proof the room. The products out there are way to expensive for me to incorporated with the budget I have. I purchase everything with cash so when the room is finished there are no loans to pay off. The acoustics of the room will be dealt with by acoustic panels I will make when the equipment is installed to get the maximum efficiency.
