Switched to Gamerang and it has been very good to me so far. jasonstiller 07-11-07, 01:24 PM I jsut signed up with gamesnflix and other than getting a DVD instead of a HD-DVD its not bad. I used the coupon that game me 3 out at a time for 12 bucks. You cant beat that anywhere! dpe8598 07-11-07, 01:30 PM I jsut signed up with gamesnflix and other than getting a DVD instead of a HD-DVD its not bad. I used the coupon that game me 3 out at a time for 12 bucks. You cant beat that anywhere! Whatever you do, don't sign up for a year. They are good to you at first, then they really drop off. If you only care about old games (older than 3 or 4 months) than gameznflix is good. If you are looking to get the holiday games this holiday, you probably won't get em. It took between 2 and 5 months to get me Rainbow 6, GoW, among other holiday games. maximuslcd 07-11-07, 01:44 PM I very rarely rent games, every time I do they are scratched or something and it cost $8 for 5 days, I just hopefully d/l the demo and make sure I like it to purchase ileff 07-11-07, 01:56 PM It is a bit of a splurge, but I have the 3 discs out plan at gamefly. A buck a day, but I always have the latest games. Their 'keep it' prices are really good. Once you've been there a while they have loyalty discounts like $5 coupons and additional 10% off. Stryker412 07-11-07, 02:12 PM It is a bit of a splurge, but I have the 3 discs out plan at gamefly. A buck a day, but I always have the latest games. Their 'keep it' prices are really good. Once you've been there a while they have loyalty discounts like $5 coupons and additional 10% off. Same here but I only have 1 at a time. AM Son 08-03-07, 07:29 AM I rarely rent games, but I spend so much on games every year that these sites intrigue me. I usually trade games in when I've completed them or they are no longer pertinent (ie. sports games). If I can play a game until completion or boredem, why not use a service like this!? Would a service like these be worthwhile for me? Anyone have any input? Thanks for any guidance! Samstag 08-03-07, 08:41 AM I use Gamefly also. I've been having a really hard time getting 360 games for some reason. I've got a mix of recent and fairly old games at the top of my queue and it tends to skip to #9 or 10 lately. I realize new releases are going to be a little hard to get, but I can't have DOA4, Quake, or The Outfit either? Turnaround time here in Dallas also sucks most of the time. Ph3 08-03-07, 09:55 AM I've been using Gamerang for about 4 months now and they're the best I've tried, but they are on the expensive side at $22 per month. Stay away from Gameznflix, they haven't stocked any new released movies or games for a few months now. Everything is "on order". Can't beat their price but I guess you get what you pay for. marms1 08-03-07, 12:30 PM While I normally tend to stay away from the really huge companies, I really like GameFly and have been using them for about 18 months now. Before GameFly I had used RedOctane's online rentals, mainly due to there carrying a lot of old PSX RPG's. Rassilon 08-03-07, 01:51 PM I've been using gamefly for a couple years now (like others I splurge and do the 3 at a time plan). Works perfectly so I always have a game for the DS and maybe something for the xbox. I've had a few issues with them over the years but overall I've been very satisfied. hotdogwater2 08-03-07, 02:21 PM i use blockbuster for movies, and my monthly free rental for games chad473 08-03-07, 02:43 PM I've been using gamefly for about 3 months now. My only issue is how often it passes on medium or high games in my queue. Heck, just today they mailed out my #7 game, even though there is a game listed at high, and my number 1 says now available. I got lucky with all pro football, but other than that I haven't been able to get any new releases since I joined in May. Shadowrun, Darkness, Dirt...they're always low or medium for a day or two at best. shipping is iffy sometimes too. I'm in PA so I'm sending to the Pittsburgh center, and twice it's taken them a week to report receiving a game. I do get them 2 days after they ship to me though. BrianEK 08-03-07, 02:47 PM I currently have Gameznflix but as others have noted, recently no new games are ever in stock. They release but are on order and they don't actually have the game for 2-3 weeks after release. In addition to how dissapointed I was when wanting to rent MLB 07: The Show and Dirt and finding that they don't even offer these games at all! The price is great but I am starting to get fed up with them and will probably cancel. I was also the victim of selecting that I wanted Layer Cake in blu-ray, I ended up getting the regular DVD instead. Also, I have had Forza 2 in my list ever since it was released. The stock indicator shows it is "short wait" but I don't consider almost a month a short wait. I used to have Gamefly, it was just so expensive which is why I went to Gameznflix. Also they lost 2 games in the mail in addition to it took about 2 weeks from the day I put a game back in the mail, before I'd get another one that was readily in stock. This is because I live in IL and their only shipping center at the time was in CA. ultracat 08-03-07, 02:53 PM Whatever you do, don't sign up for a year. I second that for just about any service. I've been with a few different game/HD-DVD/BR rental companies (up here in Canada - we don't have the same services as you guys in the States) and they have all been the same. For the first few weeks you are getting all the latest releases, then after that you are getting the crap from a year and a half ago. "Oh great, you mailed me #98 on my list: Perfect Dark Zero. I can buy that for like $10." pestario 08-03-07, 03:11 PM Gameznflix is awful unless you want to rent older games and even then it's no guarentee. I have had a amix of popular older titles and newer title and got nothing but an old PS2 game and 2 old blu rays. Despited having a que of 15 plus for them to choose from. I'm cancleing after this month and going to Gamefly or trying gamerang. I guess you do get what you pay for. SpinsterSXRD 08-03-07, 05:20 PM I love gamefly, I've been using them for 2 1/2 years, I think they are great, I get 2 games out at a time, to get a new release I find out when it's coming soon put it in my que months in advance, then you watch out for when it get's close to the release delete ALL other ques except that new release and make sure you send back all other games and 9 out of 10 times I get that new release! I keep it for a while and get keep it for almost half the retail price! I get 10% off and 5 dollar gamefly off as well. They mail you a New box cover and instructions for free so you are sure not to get a crappy taped up fake cover box. Any who It works for me. |
