View Full Version : Where do I start to fix this one? Help!!! rpajaro 07-11-07, 11:05 AM Any Barco guru that worked on Data 808s please help. jtnfoley 07-11-07, 11:48 AM Rotate the scan coil. HV WARNING!!! Power down the set and give it ten minutes or more for all the dangerous voltage to discharge. http://www.curtpalme.com/Barco808_Layout10.shtm There is a black ground wire on the clamp screw between the focus and deflection yoke... loosen that screw, rotate the green deflection yoke a few degrees, tighten that screw (not too much! it's clamping on glass don't forget.) draganm 07-11-07, 11:53 AM whoa! I would not start rotating coils. There's not enoguh information in that post to diagnose anything. For all we know the poster hasen't even read the opwners manual. A full re-set and mechanical setup procedure is a good way to start. rpajaro 07-11-07, 12:04 PM Thanks guys. I did read the install and user manual. How do I reset the mechanical setup precedure. I did not see that in any manual. draganm 07-11-07, 12:10 PM I haven't looked at Barco menu's in a long time, but the re-set of the machine's settings is usually in the service menu. Basically, everytime yuo sstart a fresh install on a CRT projector you should re-set it and clear-out all the previous adjustments. From there you makje sure the PJ is the right distance from the screen relaitive to the screen size and that's it's well centered to the screen, these are the 2 most important considerations. From there, use the projectors built in set-up guides that walk you throguh the mechanical tube alignemnt or B +R to green, as well as the Geometry controls, mechanical and electronic focus, and finally Electronic Convergence. garyfritz 07-11-07, 12:15 PM Do NOT rotate the scan coils. You can see that the center horizontal lines are lined up perfectly. That says the rasters are all lined up rotation-wise. Looks to me like it just needs a full geometry/convergence/etc setup. And Dragan is right, make sure your mech setup is right first (projector 100% perfectly flat and level, perfectly centered to the screen, perfectly perpendicular to the screen, proper distance from the screen), as that will greatly simplify your setup process and will make the resulting converged picture much more stable. Curt Palme 07-11-07, 12:34 PM IT is possible that he will run out of convergence settings on some squares while doing the convergence. If that's the case, loosen the R and B yokes slightly and offset the H centerlines so that the V centerlines are a bit closer to being overlapped. That will allow each grid to get aligned properly, but I agree, generally speaking for what I saw on that pix, all setup parameters should be fine. rpajaro 07-11-07, 01:28 PM I did the guided setup and still the grid on the left an right side seem to drift away from the green. The red seems to be the worst. Need clarification on this following items: 1. If the projector is level on the ceiling, what would cause the red to drift on all sides when the cross hair is aligh properly? 2. When I got the projector, the raster was set beyond the phospor area on the edges. I read in the some post that its ok to have that setting just as long as the image is within the raster. If this is not ok how do I change the size of the raster? 3. How do I align the green raster from the blue and red? Thanks guys. I can't wait to get the dvd from Graham!!! :) jtnfoley 07-11-07, 02:00 PM D'OH! Sorry, I totally did not see the horizontal. Reset the parameters by using the service menu "set to midposition" and "convergence off" (from my flawed memory, from my experience with a BG801 and RD801. Unknown whether this reads different on an 808.) |
