New Owner of the Onkyo 605 here, haven't had a chance to set it up yet but I have a question.

I have my PC hooked up to my LCD HDTV atm, and I want to put the sound through the receiver instead of directly to the TV speakers. Would anyone have an idea of how to accomplish this? At this time the only sound card I have in the PC is the one with the stereo plugs (3.5mm I believe). I'm guessing I would need to buy a new sound card and if so which one? Just wanted to double check.

Thanks in advance.

Anything with optical or coax digital.

Or just get a stereo 3.5mm to RCA phono adapter and run red/white audio cables to the A/V receiver. Not the best... but it will work.

What are you trying to achieve? For 5.1 out you'll want a soundcard with SPDIF out as mentioned. If you just want stereo out or the like you can just use analog outs as mentioned.

Just noticed my motherboard should have a S/PDIF port on it, so I'll check and if so grab some Coaxial and connect it to the receiver that way.
