I have about 40 ft of extra blue rope light that I used in my soffits. When Berkline works out the kinks in their blue LED cupholders I will put in a few of those and I wanted to have a little button I press and everything that has blue accent lighting turns on.
So here is my question. Has anyone installed rope light behind their screen. My vutec has a frame and the frame has enough room in teh channel to put some u-channel and install a rope light. The screen is mounted to a board so I don't think there is any possibility of light bleed.
Has anyone seen this or done this or have an opinion on this :)

thanks, that is one of those you can't search for. I like when people use orange lights with a white wall. I think I wire it up and see how it looks tonight. I'll take a picture and get some opinions.

LOL - I tried it last night. Not impressed and you really couldn't see it.
I think the issue is 3 fold.
1) I don't think the high output rope light form 1000bulbs is really very bright, plus you add it being blue and it just doesn't have punch.
2) My Vutec screen only has about a 3/4 inch gap around it. I was hoping that would be enough room to spit out light around the sides of the screen.
3) I need to seal teh edges of the frame where it meets the screen board as blue light was bleeding up between the frame.

Maybe the LED ones would perform better?
What about doubling it up?

not enought room to double and I'm concerned about heat. Gonna think it through.
I put some rope light I had lying around behind my screenwall so you can see where speakers are when it's turned on. The picture's lousy but you get the idea.
