View Full Version : Viewing live TV using AVCVideoCap?

I'm trying to get my DCT6416 to play live (or close to it) on my Mac Mini (through AVCVideoCap or any other software) through firewire. I'd prefer that it wasn't recording the stream to my Mac Mini but just reading it and displaying it in a video window or full screen. I'm not very good at command line, but I'm willing to try any solutions to get this working. Can someone help me to get this working?

Edit: I read another thread where you start recording and open the file then start viewing with a 10 second delay. However, are there any ways just to view the stream coming out of AVCVideoCap? Or make it think it's recording but really it's just putting out video?

See this post about downloading a modified version of AVCBrowser that can stream live directly to VLC:
